MAUNALOA II, (C. 247522) Lake Bulk Freighter. Built in 1899 by Chicago Shipbuilding Co. (Hull #37). Launched August 12, 1899 as a) MAUNALOA (U.S. 92974) for Minnesota S.S. Co., Duluth. 452' LOA X 50' X 28'6"; 4951 GRT. Powered by a 1,800 ihp quadruple expansion steam engine. In 1901 was part of a six fleet consolidation into the Pittsburgh S.S. Co. Sold Canadian in 1945 to Upper Lakes & St. Lawrence Transportation Co. Ltd., Toronto and renamed b) MAUNALOA II (C. 174977). Sold for scrap to United Metals Ltd., Hamilton, Ont. in 1971.
