"The Blockade". This postcard shows the "Houghton Blockade" at the Soo. It
lasted from September 5-10, 1899. The whalebacks shown left to right are
"118", "105" and the E. B. Bartlett were among close to a hundred others
stopped by the sunken freighter downstream.

She remained at this dock site for several years before she was sold to the
City of Toledo for use as a museum ship where she now serves today at the

Tall ship Christian Radich visiting in 1976.
During America's Bi-Centennial celebration the tall ship toured various ports on the St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes. During August 1976 the Radich was at Toledo for several days, Tens of thousands of people toured the vessel while in port. In the first view we see her at the City Docks open for tours. She was launched in 1937 and is approximately 238 feet long, her compliment was 14 crew members with 88 cadets onboard during her visit.

November 19, 1966 sent the freighter aground
on Thunder Bay Island Shoal in northern Lake Huron. A storm batter the ship
against the shoal and it was declared a total loss. Today parts of the hull
remain visible above the water.

River Company from the Interlake Steamship Company Fleet. She sailed for
many years for this fleet as the Charles M. Schwab.

The Pioneer was later towed out to Bay Shipbuilding Company at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin where she was converted over to a cement storage vessel. She is now known as the CTC No. 1 and is located in South Chicago. The Wilson eventually ended being scrapped overseas.
